We make every effort to ensure the collection and processing of personal data is proportionate. We will notify you if there are any changes in the information we collect or in how we process it.

The only sensitive personal data we process is related to your ethnic origin. As our organisation’s mission is to promote black and ethnic diversity, we need to collect this information to track progress and produce relevant figures and statistics. This is our legitimate interest. However, please rest assured that your ethnic origin will never be used to assess your suitability for a role. We do not share this data with any external party, including our clients, and it is not a factor considered when selecting candidates for interviews. When conducting research, the data used about ethnic origin is anonymised.
Along with the lawful basis of legitimate interest, we require explicit consent to process sensitive personal information. You will be prompted to give consent by ticking a box when filling out and submitting your application form.
Where information may be held
Information may be stored on our database and other systems, which could be hosted by third-party service providers.
How long we retain your information
We retain personal information obtained during registration only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. Should you choose to withdraw, your data will be permanently deleted from our databases.
For personal data collected during recruitment, we retain it only for as long as necessary, depending on the outcome of your application and whether you are hired by a client. Unnecessary data will be securely deleted.
If your application is successful, we will retain employment-related records, such as salary and employment details. Any information no longer required will be securely destroyed.
Your right to object to our processing
If our processing is based solely on legitimate interests (or those of a third party), you have the right to object if you provide specific reasons based on your situation. In such cases, we will stop processing your data unless we can demonstrate overriding legitimate grounds, or if the processing is for legal claims. Please contact us to exercise this right.

Keeping your personal information secure
